Founded in 1885 by New England Congregationalists who sought to bring their style of liberal arts education to the Florida frontier, Rollins is the oldest recognized college in the state of Florida. -Rollins College ranks number one among 127 regional universities in the South in the annual rankings of “America’s Best Colleges,” released by U.S. News & World Report. This is the seventh consecutive year that Rollins has been named to the top spot in this category, which is comprised of schools that provide a full range of undergraduate and master’s-level programs. -Rollins College is one of the best colleges in the nation to work for, according to a new survey by The Chronicle of Higher Education. This is the fourth consecutive year Rollins has been recognized in The Chronicle’s annual report on The Academic Workplace. - Rollins College has again been featured on Colleges of Distinction, a website dedicated to honoring schools nationwide for their excellence in student-focused higher education. Rollins is recognized for consistently providing a remarkable undergraduate experience and producing successful graduates. - StudentAdvisor released its spring 2012 list of Top 100 Social Media Colleges, ranking Rollins College 90th in the nation. Mastery of public social media methods, tools, and websites was determined through qualitatively measuring audience engagement via Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and blogs. The list is based on a mathematical algorithm that quantifies the social media footprint of each college and university in the United States. - The Best Colleges ranked Rollins among the 50 Most Beautiful College Campuses. - This year, six students were awarded Fulbright scholarships. Rollins has produced a total of 42 Fulbright Scholars (17 of whom have been named since 2005) since receiving its first Fulbright Award in 1951.
